Yak & Yeti Enterprises is established, and begins supporting a Buddhist monastery that provides both Buddhist and secular education.

As a certified member of Fair Trade Group Nepal, we provide a safe, respectful and non-discriminatory working environment with equal opportunities for men and women. We do not use child labour or exploitative working practices, and we are committed to paying our producers and suppliers on time. Together with our sister company, we employ 35 people directly and hundreds more indirectly.

Yak & Yeti was founded to support Buddhist education. Since 1983 we have supported a Buddhist monastery that provides both Buddhist and secular education, including for children from Nepal's remote mountain regions. Our long-term goal is a sustainable Nepalese economy: creating employment, supporting producers and helping Nepalese craftsmanship reach the world.
